Thirty years of this subject
We have been working on love online since 1996, when we started Lovesite, the Israeli love site. It is still running. It holds more than a million poems, letters and love stories written by the people who use it, alongside guides, compatibility tools and a community that has been talking about relationships there for thirty years.
Online dating barely existed in 1996. We have been in this subject since before it was an industry.
Fourteen apps built on one idea
Alongside that, Hearth Software builds Windows apps for the home, most of them on the Microsoft Store. They are built on a principle we state on our own front page: your files, messages, backups and scans move between your own devices, inside your own walls, and nowhere else.
HearthWire turns your home computers into a private network with messaging, file sharing and voice calls. HearthMove moves files, apps and settings between PCs. HearthVault backs up between your own machines. HearthScan scans documents from a phone to a PC over Wi-Fi. HearthFiles, HearthFind, HearthSweep and FolderNotes organise, search and de-duplicate what you already have. HearthRescue recovers deleted files and HearthCardCheck spots counterfeit memory cards. HearthPage edits and signs PDFs, HearthDocClean strips hidden metadata out of documents and photos, PresenceLock locks and unlocks apps by how close your phone is, and HearthWatch shows your home cameras on your PC.
That principle is why NearbyLove is built the way it is. Your exact position is degraded on your own phone before anything is sent, the safety answers you give are never shown to anybody, and when a photo is checked against a list of known illegal material, a 32 byte fingerprint leaves the server rather than the picture. PresenceLock is also proximity detection, which is the same problem the radar solves.
What we built next
NearbyLove is a dating app for meeting people who are genuinely near you, without publishing where you actually are. Every safety tool is free on every plan, and each feature says what it can and cannot do rather than promising an outcome.
